Mirror mirror on the wall

Give me a holiday dream
curling up like coffee steam
from a cup, make that two,
take me back to the person I knew.
Girl in the mirror on the wall,
when did you have your great fall?
Was the grind the uphill climb,
or the downward spiral?

  1. Strong work…; and, very deeply enchanting. I note this poem is relatively ‘short’…yet, it is very effective, indeed.

Two line rhyming scheme(dream/steam, two/knew, wall/fall, climb/spiral)…that last couplet might not rhyme exactly…; but, it’s definitely connected through sharing a similar thought process…uphill climb/downwards spiral…I guess, ‘up/down’ is the rhyme here.

You see, I tend to suffer from ADD/Attention Deficit Disorder…which leads to ‘low attention span’. Yet, reading your poetry seems to have me ‘hooked’…with my attention unwavering…that’s a remarkable feat in itself…meaning, I really and truly like it.

My ultimate aim, though…is to be able to learn from you…so, that I can write equally as well.
