{"id":254,"date":"2021-06-07T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-07T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"phoenix-flames","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ajulea.com\/index.php\/2021\/06\/07\/phoenix-flames\/","title":{"rendered":"Phoenix flames"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Town bells knolled in tall towers\u2013<br \/>\na countdown to the last hours. <br \/>\nThe sound, like cragged lines in<br \/>\nrugged planes, stuck out like veins<br \/>\nof earth reaching for the skies, <br \/>\nalmost at the finish line. <\/p>\n<p>We were pink leaves, fresh as dawn, <br \/>\ncapturing the morning sun<br \/>\nin our lips as light, blue rain <br \/>\ntiptoed into the refrain. <br \/>\nMidst flower bloom and spring breeze<br \/>\ntime slows down but doesn&#8217;t freeze. <br \/>\nLeaves fade from pink to rust and, <br \/>\ndrift off in the autumn dusk. <\/p>\n<p>We wore wishbones in loose strings<br \/>\naround our necks, like late spring <br \/>\nlove songs, when colours fade<br \/>\nfrom new friends to renegades. <br \/>\nLost in the fog, we became<br \/>\ngrey shadows within the frame<br \/>\nof an old Monet sunrise. <br \/>\nClouds tumbled in cotton skies. <\/p>\n<p>When days are redolent of<br \/>\nsea mist in the hidden cove\u2013<br \/>\nwhere warm, luminescent waves<br \/>\nlapped our toes near coral caves\u2013<br \/>\nghost towns drown in phoenix flames, <br \/>\nand walls crack, we&#8217;ll meet again. <\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Town bells knolled in tall towers\u2013  a countdown to the last hours.
