{"id":251,"date":"2021-04-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-04-17T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"threadbare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ajulea.com\/index.php\/2021\/04\/17\/threadbare\/","title":{"rendered":"Threadbare"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The shadows dance and scream as<br \/>\nblack ink dribbles down bruised skies<br \/>\nwhile the maroon sunset lures<br \/>\nme into a game of tag. <br \/>\nSundown is an old friend who<br \/>\nis amused when I complain<br \/>\nabout clockwork routine and<br \/>\nhow my day&#8217;s been as long as<br \/>\nwinter nights in the North Pole. <\/p>\n<p>This train is louder than the<br \/>\nbird calls which drown out voices, <br \/>\npulsating through synapses, <br \/>\nticking with the minute hand, <br \/>\ntill winds chase the clouds away. <br \/>\nIf I hold my breath without<br \/>\ncounting the seconds, I hear<br \/>\nthe earth spinning and my mind<br \/>\nracing at the same speed, so<br \/>\nin sync that it seems like my<br \/>\nthoughts aren&#8217;t moving at all. <\/p>\n<p>Relatively, dawn is a<br \/>\nstranger I&#8217;ve watched through heavy <br \/>\nlids and with apple cider<br \/>\nyesterday still on my lips. <br \/>\nAs the purple light slants in<br \/>\nthrough the stained grey window pane, <br \/>\nthe cavity in my chest<br \/>\nhas never felt more hollow. <br \/>\nA gecko calls.
