{"id":245,"date":"2021-01-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-01-17T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"i-touched-the-sky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ajulea.com\/index.php\/2021\/01\/17\/i-touched-the-sky\/","title":{"rendered":"I touched the sky"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>I touched the sky yesterday. <\/p>\n<p>And while I was reaching up,<br \/>\nan unsure shred of it fell, <br \/>\nthrough slanted rays, on parched lips. <br \/>\nIt tasted like honeydew, <br \/>\nsalted caramel popcorn<br \/>\nand freshly squeezed orange juice. <br \/>\nThe texture was wispy, like<br \/>\ntriumph and cotton candy,<br \/>\nwhich left a lingering taste; <br \/>\nand a deep hunger for more. <\/p>\n<p>Light blue slipped through my fingers<br \/>\nwhen I tried stuffing some sky<br \/>\nin dusty jacket pockets<br \/>\n(hard work&#8217;s always in fashion).<br \/>\nThe sky gave way to more sky, <br \/>\nas liquid light humbled me. <br \/>\nDistant voices, mocking laughs<br \/>\nrang through my ears, vibrating<br \/>\na sinister shade of red. <br \/>\nEyes, downcast in shame, widened. <\/p>\n<p>Red and gold dots and dashes<br \/>\npeered up from the world below, <br \/>\nwhile matchbox cars cruised slowly. <br \/>\nA collective whisper rose-<\/p>\n<p>But, is this view not enough?<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I touched the sky yesterday.
