I was stuck in a wakeful slumber
when I thought I saw you stand
slightly by the doorframe,
looking down at your hand.
I thought you came in slowly
and sat down by my bed,
I thought you touched my forehead
but I woke to emptiness instead.
I walked up to the terrace,
it was a breezy night,
magical hue, prussian blue,
stars were shining bright.
I looked up to admire them
but saw the constellations form
your name in big bold letters
which didn’t seem to be the norm.
I ran back to my room
chased by memories of you-
a similar night, a stormy fight,
intransigent prussian blue.
I thought about the stars above
and wished I could be one,
not to play a game of hide and seek
or hide behind the sun,
not to burn in this agony,
not to dismiss you from my head,
but to burn bright into the night
and shine for me instead.
