How the rainbow got her seventh hue

Fluffy pillows, an afternoon nap,
Rudely awoken by a thunderclap,
“Get up now, rise and shine,
Freshen up, it’s almost time.”
To this booming voice she arose,
And had just barely struck a pose,
When the floorboards parted, fair and square,
And she fell through her castle in the air.
“Camera, check. Action, check…Where is Light?”
“The storm clouds delayed his flight.”
So the Rainbow waited, now annoyed,
With the six colours she glorified.
Till, at dawn, the colour Red
The advent of Light, heralded.
Excited, after the long wait,
The Rainbow asked the colour Red,
“Thank you, you made my day.
For once, would you like to stay?”
“Messengers can’t stay”, Red replied,
“I’ll visit once more, just before it’s night.”
“Let a wisp of you stay with me.
And adorn my head, for the world to see.”
Red agreed, and as he withdrew,
The Rainbow got her seventh hue.
